All dogs have an adoption fee, require a home check, are up to date on all of their shots, and have been either neutered or spayed. Some dog breeds require homeowners as a lot of landlords and rental agencies have breed restrictions in place.
Here is our preliminary application to adopt from Res-Que. Please fill out and send to info@res-que.org
Preliminary Application
Its important for our adopters to realize that our dogs come first. We strive to place our dogs in homes where they fit and can be part of the family. If people are home bodies, don't get out a lot to hike or walk, a Husky mix may not be the dog for them and if people are hikers and campers maybe a lazy laid back dog is not the best fit. Many dogs end up homeless because people think they want a certain breed that in all actuality isn't a good fit.
We may ask that certain dogs go through training after adoption and we will do what we can to help with that process. It's not always beneficial for us to keep dogs for months and we may feel it best they move into a forever home and training continue there.
If a dog we pull has medical issues we strive to address them before they are moved to a forever home, especially if its emergent. We cannot guarantee all medical can be addressed or will even be found, these are dogs we have very little or no history on. We cannot always have dental work done on a dog but we will advise the adopter when a dental needs to be done and will adjust an adoption fee for these dogs.
Home checks are done so we can see where the dogs will be kept, sometimes we see things that the homeowner or adopter don't see and the foster can make suggestions on what works for that certain dog, we are not there to judge. Our goal is to make an adoption work for the dog and for the adopter(s).
