We have re-welcomed Rice Krispies back into Res-Que! Remember the 9 dobie mix puppies from a couple of months ago? Well he's one of them! Occasionally we get it wrong in placing a pup. As was the case with this boy. Based on what we heard and more of what we've witnessed back in his original foster home we think we know what his perfect home will include. He LOVES dogs, but senior dogs may not appreciate his puppy antics. He's shown to take corrections well from dogs in his foster home. He's a bit insecure and draws confidence from his confident foster siblings. If there are children in the home, they need to be calm and over the age of 10. Younger children make him uncomfortable. He's not quite ready for adoption yet as his foster mom is working on building trust and boosting his confidence. Probably in a couple weeks. He's housebroken and crate trained (although he does protest some in his crate). We think he'll need a home with a doggie buddy to help him learn to trust. Cats are probably not an issue. Professional training is also strongly suggested to help build the bond. Upon meeting him, it probably won't be an instant connection, but with patience and consistency and a calm environment he'll come around in a few days. Once he trusts his family, you'll have a Velcro dog for life (as is the way with Dobermans). He's almost 6 months old, UTD on shots and neutered. Due to breed, a homeowner will be required.
