SPECIAL NEEDS

Maia’s dream home is simple, somewhere to love and be loved. This little girl is a true companion. Wherever you are is where she wants to be. We call her our little shadow because of her beautiful deep black fur and that she is always beside you. She is an easy girl to love. Everyone from young to old is her new friend, all dogs are playmates, she even likes cats! She is comfortable in all situations like parties and town events. She loves food and is happy to taste test any meal.  She does need her toes cleaned once a day with special wipes because of mild allergies but outside of that she has no skin or eye issues. She is very quiet and doesn't bark but makes up for it with her snoring! Maia does wear a diaper due to incontinence due to a bout of intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) which caused neurological deficits. She can urinate and defecate on her own outside but will be a full time diaper diva in the house. She has her own signature waddle but her mobility is great and she doesn’t need much assistance. She can run and play and use the steps (she can go up a few stairs on her own but chooses to stare at you until you pick her up). She can be left alone in the house without any issues. She would prefer someone who isn’t gone all day not just because of her special needs but because she thrives on being as close to her humans as possible. Maia's adoption fee is sponsored.
