Do you recognize Hope, who came in about a month ago with an embedded collar? Sometimes her foster mom doesn't since her transformation from skinny, scared bobblehead to happy, healing, silly, young dog! Hope will be looking for her forever home after being spayed soon and will be such a sweet addition to her family.
At home : Hope is crate trained and even prefers to have a quiet place to retreat to if she needs. We have not had any accidents in the house since establishing a good routine! She loves to have a bed to curl up in but her favorite place to be is right next to someone, sitting almost on top of you and accepting love.
Out and about : Hope is wonderful on leash! She doesn't pull (except away from all the trash cans on trash day, those are pretty spooky) and walks past barking dogs in yards without engaging. She loves hiking on the trails nearby and has even spent a few days working as a quiet, respectful office dog.
Friends : Hope lives with two other dogs and has met others well, too. We would love to see her go to a home with a companion dog that she might take cues from while she continues to learn to trust the world around her. She is very playful with her foster sister! Favorite dog games include bitey face, sharing toys, and wrestling. Hope is very gentle with children. However, unpredictable and sudden movements make her a bit nervous, causing her to retreat to her crate. Her ideal home would be patient and understanding, knowing that this is because she spent a big portion of her life just trying to survive.
When she's very happy, you might get to witness some of her very cute Hope Hops! And when we find her perfect family, we'll all be jumping for joy If you think that might be you fill out an application and foster will reach out.
