Zorro will be ready for his forever home soon. He is approximately 1.5 years old and is a long haired French Bulldog, or that's what he came into rescue as. Out of curiosity we are going to do a DNA test on Zorro, however, in all actuality we don't care what breed he is, we just care that he gets the best home ever. He was born blind and he does have diabetes insepidus and takes pills daily but beyond that he's a happy little Trooper who gets around very well for not having any sight, his hearing is impeccable . Zorro will need a specific type of home and we won't deviate much from his needs. First and foremost a lot of stairs are not a good idea. A home with a lot of clutter or low cabinets with knickknacks that he can run into and knock over are also not advisable. Zorro will learn his surroundings, it's amazing what blind dogs can process and remember but accidents do happen. He is fine with other dogs and cats. but he is most happy when he's with his person. Zorro is vocal so he is not an apartment dog, he could get someone in trouble with a landlord. He is your typical stubborn Bulldog and he'll let you know what he wants and when. Small children might be a bit much for Zorro, he can get excited and will nip if he's overly stimulated. He loves to sit with you and just hang out, chew on a toy or play with his ball, ear scratches are his favorite. Someone who is home more than gone would be best for Zorro or he'd love to hang out at work with you, he's great in the car also. Zorro has already been through a couple of changes and this home we find for him will hopefully be his last move/change so we want the people who apply to realize it will take a little work at first to get him comfortable but he will adjust and be your best buddy. Don't apply because you feel sorry for him because he thrives and does just fine. He knows how to dog very well, so he needs a home that will help him succeed. Application can be found at www.res-que.org, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on forms/applications.
